How long before we see “NAME” v. Texas BOE in litigation?
Hopefully not all that long. Just where the fuck to Christians get off revising history? Revising Jefferson out of history? Revising separation of church and state out of history? I realize fundamentalist christians live in a mental and religious vacuum, but COME ON.
There needs to be some oversight on the Texas Board of Education besides the WASP governor, right? Checks and Balances in government? So who is going to be the first group of non-fundamentalist, thinking Texas citizens to stand up (with standing, mind you) and say no to this affront to reason?
If Texas wants to teach religion in school, then there is no problem teaching the HISTORY of RELIGION(s) in school. That is actually a worthwhile subject - but that history (including the really bad parts) should be complete and it should be an overview of all religions, not just Xtianity.
So bring it on, rational people of Texas. Challenge this group of right wing dumbshits hijacking your state for Jesus. Who is it going to be? “INSERT NAME HERE”.
